Indian company HCL is about to expand its ME series family of tablets with another 7-inch slate dubbed X1 ME.

According to the guys over at AndroidOS, the tablet will be available for purchase starting today for Rs 10,490 (about $213 or 155 EUR).

Given its low price, the tablet does not come with the latest Honeycomb platform, instead it offers users Android 2.3 Gingerbread, along with exclusive access to the ME App store which has over 10,000 apps.

The X1's 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 800 x 480 pixels resolution and 16 million colors support.

In addition, the slate is equipped with a 1Ghz processor, a 2-megapixel camera, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expasion (up to 32GB).

Clearly the tablet is aimed at Indian consumers, so the manufacturer decided to pre-load a range of useful apps such as “ME Connect,” which allows users to transfer content on the tablet from any another computing device.

Last, but not least, the X1 ME provides users with the option to book discounted tickets or download discounted music and e-books from various local websites.
