Music games are extremely popular these days because they offer a high level of entertainment for a decent amount of money. A lot of gamers are hooked on the idea that they can play their favorite tracks from famous bands in the privacy of their own homes, which leads to some very big profits from companies such as Activision or Harmonix, who are responsible for two of the most popular titles currently on the market, Guitar Hero and Rock Band, respectively.

As Activision is gearing up to release a veritable plethora of GH titles, with the first being a special version dedicated to one of the most popular bands to grace the stages of the world, Guitar Hero: Metallica, rumors have started going around about the future music groups that will get the special treatment from the video game corporation.

With some solid rumors coming from Eurogamer a few weeks ago, according to which Van Halen would be the next band to get its own title, now some fresh new waves of speculation will certainly rise from an article released by MTV about 80s glam rock band Motley Crue. Among reports on the upcoming tour that the band will make and new projects, the writer made a brief mention of Guitar Hero, citing inside sources. “Aside from gearing up for the tour, the band is also working on side projects, a new album and a possible Mötley Crüe-inspired edition of Guitar Hero,” reads the article.

While the first band to receive the single release treatment, Aerosmith, didn't impress, hopefully, if things go well with GH: Metallica, the Activision team will start signing with more and more popular groups in order to release a single niche title. Let's just hope that the company won't start to exploit the GH series with no remorse and will keep the quality bar high enough so that people will still enjoy their music experience.
