MMO fans are definitely excited about the upcoming Guild Wars 2 launch, as the new game promises to deliver one very interesting experience, plus the fact that it won't charge a monthly subscription like the most popular MMORPG on the market, World of Warcraft.

Now, the team behind the game, ArenaNet, has revealed that longtime players of the original Guild Wars, as well as its many expansions, will be rewarded with special unlocks for their new characters, based on what they have in their own Hall of Monuments.

For those unaware, Guild Wars: Eye of the North introduced a Hall of Monuments, basically a room filled with the best achievements of the player, as testimony to his skill and hard work.

Guild Wars 2 will also have such a thing, and in order to reward players who have been in the original game for quite some time, it will give them special things like titles, unlockables items or mounts.

Depending on the character you had in the original Guild Wars titles, you can unlock things like:

-Special Hall of Monuments titles -Animal companions for your ranger, like the Black Widow Spider and Rainbow Jellyfish -Miniatures such as the Red Servitor Golem or Orange Tabby Cat, that any profession can use -A wide selection of weapons, like the Living Shortbow and the Fellblade -Armor pieces for your light, medium, and heavy armor sets

The low-level items can be used right away, while the game will allow you to use specialty ones once your level increases, so as to not give you an unfair advantage.

In order to help you figure out just what things you can earn based on your own player, the team at ArenaNet revealed a special Hall of Monuments Calculator, in which you just need to enter your character's name and it will tell you what things you can earn with the new feature in the upcoming title.

Guild Wars 2 will be launched next year, but a concrete release date has yet to be revealed.

The Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game will be published by NCsoft exclusively for the PC.
