Unless it scratches too easy

Some new live images of the Motorola U9 mobile phone have recently appeared, although an official release would have probably been better. The phone still looks great, showing off some great light effects on the external display.

Some other real pics of the phone appeared some time ago, although they only emphasized its metallic shine and smooth case. This time, Motorola U9 looks less shiny and more of a fingerprint magnet. Moreover, the smooth surface leaves room for nasty scratches that will surely take away from its charm, in time.

The old Motorola RAZR keypad looks terribly unimpressive when seen on this phone. It might just be that we have seen it once too many times until now and it ceased being an impressive feature a long time ago. Moreover, some people are not all that crazy about it, although it looks just like the inner side of a real clam.

The external display is, by far, the most impressive aspect on the Motorola U9. It brings light effects that change according to the music played. It looks gorgeous, especially in the dark, as there is no visible border where the external screen ends.

Motorola U9 is a quad-bang GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz device with GPRS and EDGE. It has no 3G, but this is only an average music phone, with nothing more than its design meant to get a hook on people. The phone has an internal screen of 240 x 320 pixels. Other than this, there are few details known on the handset.

Everybody is still waiting for an official announcement form the producer on the Motorola U9's release and a detailed performance list. Rumor has it that the clamshell will hit stores in spring, 2008 and there are high chances that this will happen, indeed.
