Grand Theft Auto IV recently received the second piece of downloadable content, The Ballad of Gay Tony, and all the content for the game launched on Xbox Live is now available on a disk in the form of Episodes from Liberty City. And with the manual for the latest release suggesting the Liberty City will not be getting any more content from Rockstar, all fans of the GTA franchise are thinking ahead to what the fifth full game in the series might be offering.

Dan Houser, who is one of the co-founders of the Rockstar studio that handles the series, has said in an interview with The Times that when it comes to Grand Theft Auto V, “We'll think of a city first, then the characters.” There was also a suggestion that the full script for the game is expected to reach 1,000 pages and that characters will be more complex than in the fourth game.

Houser has explained that the full team at Rockstar will be working on defining the next experience, stating, “me, Sam and Leslie are very aware of the fact that we as a triumvirate do not make the games; 200, 300, 700 people make the games. It's easy for people to focus on individuals because that's an easier story to tell, but it's not relevant to what we do.”

The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the biggest money makers for Take Two and likely the reason why Electronic Arts tried to take over the company and the publisher is probably very eager to actually get a fifth game in production.

Strauss Zelnick, the Chief Executive Officer of Take Two, reacted rather negatively when questions about GTA V were raised and an official announcement is probably not forthcoming for some time.
