Achievements spotted

Rockstar has just released The Ballad of Gay Tony, the second and apparently last downloadable content pack for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV, and has also launched a retail disk that combines it with The Lost & Damned for those who are not interested in getting the new content via the network. And it seems that the company is getting ready to out the first of the DLC packs on the PC.

The dedicated fansite GTA4.net has spotted the mention of Achievements for Game for Windows Live in The Lost & Damned package and a German ratings website recently had a listing for the content on the PC.

This is not in any way definitive proof that Rockstar plans to port the DLC to the PC but with GTA IV already ported, it would make sense to offer the content and get some revenue from gamers who prefer the PC to the Xbox 360 home gaming console.

When Grand Theft Auto IV was released, Rockstar and Microsoft entered into an exclusivity agreement related to the DLC. The developer would only out the DLC packs for the Xbox 360, and Microsoft was set to pay an amount of money speculated to be 50 million dollars. The PlayStation 3 version of GTA IV will probably never get the DLC but it would be interesting to see whether it arrives on the PC, considering the enhanced graphical capabilities of the platform. Rockstar would not comment on the news related to The Lost & Damned on the PC.

Rockstar has strongly suggested that GTA will not be returning to Liberty City for quite some time and there are hints in the manual for The Ballad of Gay Tony that a new DLC pack might be arriving next spring taking place somewhere outside the city, probably in a suburban area.
