The fourth annual Gran Turismo Awards just took place in Las Vegas. The host of this event was Sony Computer Entertainment America who decided for the event to take place at the SEMA (Speciality Equipment Market Association).

The big winner of the Grand Turismo awards was the 1960 Chevy Corvette, car that picked up the "Best in Show" award. The winner was selected from hundreds of entries in just five categories. The winner, namely the 1960 Chevy Corvette, will be included in the next installment of the Grand Turismo series, as were the winners from the 2003 and 2004 editions included in Grand Turismo 4.

But the Chevy will not be feeling lonely in the next Grand Turismo as it will be accompanied by the 2005 winner, the Honda S2000. Maybe we will see these two cars in Grand Turismo 4 Mobile developed for the PSP or maybe in Grand Turismo HD developed for the PlayStation 3.

As mentioned earlier, the Grand Turismo Awards had 5 categories: Best European Import, Best Domestic Automobile, Best Hot Rod, Best Japanese Automobile and Best Truck/SUV. Judges decided that the Best European Import is the 2008 Volvo C30, while the Best Domestic Automobile is the 2006 Pontiac Solstice. The Best Hot Rod was declared to be 1960 Chevy Corvette and the Best Japanese Automobile, the 2007 Honda Fit. The 2006 Hummer also received an award as it was named the Best Truck/SUV.
