14 DAY TRIAL // Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of fuss over a certain incident that took place when Victoria Beckham stepped out for dinner with Gordon Ramsay, and the waiter wouldn’t bring her a salad with no dressing. Ramsay has now explained the incident.
The British chef made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and used the opportunity to come to his friend’s defense: contrary to what tabloids and people at home believe, Victoria does actually eat.
Not only that, but she has a very healthy appetite, Ramsay insists, as the video below will confirm.
“She eats like a horse!” the chef underlines, prompting a smile and a series of jokes from host Kimmel.
“What kind of a horse? A very thin horse... one of those carousel horses?” the funnyman asks, pressing Gordon for details.
Gossip lovers must know of the jokes making the rounds in the blogosphere, about how, when Victoria goes out for lunch or dinner, she only orders lemon water – and then asks the waiter to “hold the lemon” because it has calories.
Not true, the celebrity chef says. “Honestly, she eats incredibly well. She eats healthily,” Ramsay says.
He also explains in detail what happened at the restaurant, stressing that no one can blame a pregnant woman for not wanting dressing on her salad.
“David and Tana were there and we sat down and she [Victoria] fancied a smoked trout salad. David turned around and said ‘Would you mind no dressing?’ Waiter comes back and says, ‘Sorry we can’t do that’,” Gordon recalls.
Making the salad without the dressing would have actually been easier for them.
“Obviously anyway now she’s going to give birth, I didn’t think it was a problem asking for a salad to be served natural, there’s no big hassle, it was making life a little bit easier for them, I didn’t understand the arrogance,” Ramsay says.
Reports in the tabs and on the blogosphere claimed that Victoria threw quite a hissy fit when she was told she couldn’t have her salad without dressing – but Ramsay says it wasn’t like that.
