14 DAY TRIAL // A new flavor of Google Shopper application is now available for download for handsets running under Google's Android operating system, namely version 2.0, aimed at making it easier for users to find great deals and research for products. The new version of this mobile software comes with modified menus, aimed at making it easier for users to perform various common tasks.
The development team notes that the new application version should enable people perform various actions faster than before, while also offering access to a wider range of features.
In Google Shopper 2.0, the ‘Starred’ and ‘History’ buttons have been moved to the top of the page.
Also, new tabs were added at the bottom of the screen, so as to enable users to enjoy faster navigation to some of the latest enhancements that Google Shopper comes with.
The Google Shopper application offers users the possibility to find, save and redeem offers available via nearby businesses through a number of three different tabs:
- Today’s Offer: part of the Google Offers beta program, this tab displays a single offer for discounted goods or services in your area. Today's Offer is currently available in Portland, Oregon, the San Francisco Bay Area and New York, with other cities to follow.
- Nearby Offers: when you click this tab, you'll see offers in the 'Eat' and 'Play' categories which nearby businesses have submitted through Google Places.
- My Offers: for those of us who occasionally misplace coupons or gloss over expiration dates, Google Shopper makes it easy to stay organized. When you come across an offer you like you can save it for later. Your saved and purchased offers appear on this tab and you can see which offers are close to expiring. To take advantage of an offer, just navigate to ‘My Offers,’ select the one you’d like, and click ‘Redeem’. In the future you’ll also be able to access and redeem your saved offers using Google Wallet.
The new Google Shopper 2.0 was made available for download via the Android Market and can be found here. It is compatible with all devices that run under Google's Android 2.1 or newer OS version, only in the United States and the UK.
Those who already had the application installed on their devices will be notified on the availability of the new flavor.
