Following the release of Google Maps 5.9 for Android only a few weeks ago, a new version of the highly popular application was made available for download only yesterday, with welcomed new features and enhancements.

The main improvements that the new application version brings along are aimed at offering new tools to those who like to review places and points of interest they have visited.

Apparently, as soon as the new application release is installed on an Android device, users will be able to add photos to their reviews.

Moreover, the new release will offer people the possibility to view on the map the places that they rated 4 or 5 stars. Basically, this would help users easily remember a place they liked a lot.

At the same time, users will be able to attach images with the said place to their review, so as to better illustrate what they enjoyed about that location.

As always, Google is making appealing new features available for the users of Google Maps, so as to make sure that the application remains on top when it comes to users' preferences.

This update, as others before it, might not be a major one, but users will certainly appreciate the availability of new features for them.

At the moment, Google Maps is the most downloaded application in the Android Market, and the constant wave of updates that the Internet giant is pushing out for it certainly helped the cause.

The new version of Google Maps for Android application was made available for download via the Android Market, here.

The mobile software is compatible with devices running under Android 1.6 or higher, though the latest flavor might not be available for download for all devices out there.
