Google is definitely aiming big with the Glass eyewear, and it doesn't look ready to stop at that single gadget. Head-mounted eyewear is just part of the future.

In fact, the company is already considering the production of smartwatches, not unlike the Pebble.

Google has filed a patent with the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office), a patent which describes a smartwatch with “pinch, stretch and scroll on a platform with limited space available for user input.”

It would have standard smartwatch functions, like display, processor and wireless connectivity, but the touch input would be provided by a pair of touchpads on the sides of the bezel.

The filing even suggests that Google's watch would be possible to control other devices with it. Maybe Google wants to offer an alternative to shouting at Glass to take photos or do whatever.
