Google Docs, the documents editor that Google put in place for its users, is now available for access from the browser on mobile devices as well, after being launched a while ago with support for desktop browsers.

According to the Internet giant, the solution is aimed at offering users the possibility to be more productive, and being able to access Google Docs from anywhere is one way to ensure that this would happen.

“That’s why we’re excited that the new documents editor now supports editing on your mobile browser. We’re rolling this out over the next few days,” the company announced via a recent post on Google Mobile Blog.

The solution should bring a nice range of capabilities to mobile devices, including the possibility to edit documents while on the go, to create new documents and the like.

According to the said blog post, with the new solution:

- You can work on that important memo...while on the bus or train to work. - If you’re behind on a group proposal, but really want to make it to the ball game tonight, your whole team can work on it from the bleacher seats.  - You can take minute-by-minute notes at a concert so you’ll always remember the setlist. And your friends can jealously follow in real-time at home.

Of course, these are only some of the features that Google Docs enables on mobile devices. Those who would like to learn a few more details on the solution should take a look at the video below, which was put on place by Google to demonstrate the features available on mobile too.

To get started, users would have to simply access docs.google.com in the browser of a supported device, and then select the document they would like to edit. While viewing the document, one can press the Edit button to go to the mobile editor.

Google Docs will be rolled out within the next few days for all English-language users on the globe that own an Android 2.2 Froyo-based device, or an iOS device (version 3.0+), including the iPad.

“We’ll be adding support for other languages soon. And as before, we also support editing of spreadsheets from your mobile device’s browser,” the blog post continues.
