Christina Hendricks and some Golden Globes 2011 drama: star loses $850,000 Chopard bracelet

At the 2011 Golden Globes, Christina Hendricks was as intoxicatingly beautiful as always – and the fact that she was dripping in millions worth of diamonds had nothing to do with it. Speaking of which, the star lost one of her $850,000 Chopard bracelets.

The star, who looked fabulous on the red carpet in a silk, fiery red Romona Keveza gown with an oversized ruffled strap, also rocked some major bling for the occasion.

It’s a known fact that celebrities get to wear millions on them at such awards ceremonies, and Hendricks was no exception, as she donned both earrings and 2 bracelets from Chopard, these valued at $850,000 each.

As such, it’s easy to understand why she panicked when she noticed one of the bracelets was missing, after the red carpet ceremony, the New York Post writes.

“Have you seen a diamond bracelet? I’ve lost one that looks like this,” Hendricks asked one of the guys from the NY Post, pointing to the bracelet she still had on, before heading outside again.

In the meantime, an event worker had already found the bauble outside and headed towards the venue to see if he could find the person from whose hand it had dropped as well.

Christina was “relieved” to have the bracelet back, but she later found that she couldn’t put it back on, so she wanted to go outside and look for her publicist to give it to him to keep it until the end of the ceremony.

She was stopped by a security guard at the door, says the report.

“The guard watched wide-eyed as Hendricks pulled the bracelet out from her ample cleavage. He opened the door a crack and she passed the jewels through to her publicist outside,” the Post writes.

A rep for Chopard has confirmed that the actress was wearing 200 carats worth of jewelry and had her own personal guard precisely because of this. He also says all items were returned in perfect condition.

“Hendricks was wearing 200 carats of their diamonds at the show and a security guard was on hand to make sure nothing went missing. The jewels included a 49-carat emerald and Marquise-cut diamond bracelet set in platinum, and a 124-carat, pear-cut and fancy-shape diamond bracelet set in platinum,” the Post writes.
