Pick what you want to appear in the Collector's Edition

The PlayStation 3 has seen a lot of versions appear, with some very different features contained by several of them, the most important one being the backwards compatibility, which has rendered the early consoles capable of playing PlayStation 2 games. Now, however, the PS3 doesn't have that option, which has made a lot of people quite angry, even though a PS2 is now only 99 dollars.

But it seems that things might change, at least according to a recent survey that God of War fans have been asked to fill in, in order to find out what things they want to be included in the Collector's Edition of God of War III. Among the answers are typical stuff like t-shirts, figurines, art books or “making of” movies, but something immediately pops out, as fans can choose to get “God of War and God of War II on Blu-ray disc.”

That's right, it seems that, if a lot of people will vote for that option, the team at Sony might strive to get the first two iterations of the famous franchise on a Blu-ray disc, which will be compatible with all consoles, even though they do not have backwards compatibility. But, if such a thing isn't feasible, though, the “God of War and God of War II cinematic movie compilation” option can also be picked by fans who want to see the adventures of Kratos once more.

Here are the rest of the options that you may choose by completing this survey, but don't forget that you need to be signed in with your PlayStation Network ID. Also, those who complete it will get a special wallpaper as a token of appreciation from Sony, which we have attached to the article.

“PlayStation is currently hard at work developing the latest God of War title, God of War III. We want to hear from you on what would make the ultimate God of War III Collector’s Edition. Review the items below and rate them in order of how important it would be to have in the Collector’s Edition:

Full game soundtrack; Comic book/Graphic novel; Exclusive packaging; God of War and God of War II on Blu-ray disc; God of War and God of War II cinematic movie compilation; Art book; T-shirt; Collectible items; Access to exclusive downloadable content; Behind-the-scenes/'Making of' featurettes; Developer commentary.”

If enough fans vote for the Blu-ray option, then we might get to see something extremely interesting appearing from the Sony software engineers, who might create an emulator in order for the PS2 games to be played on newer consoles. Hopefully, a lot of them will want that and we will see some concrete results in the month prior to the release of the title.
