God of War III should arrive on March 16 and the PlayStation 3 exclusive is one of the most expected titles of this year. After all, Kratos has never had an adventure on current generation consoles until now and, with the upcoming title set to end his revenge saga, players are eager to know everything about the videogame before it actually comes out.

And it seems that for those who were worrying about the hard drive space needed to actually get the game to run on the PlayStation 3, which has a drive starting at just 20 GB, there is quite a bit of good news today.

A Twitter post from Christer Ericson, who is the director of technology at the Santa Monica studio working on God of War III, reads, “God of War 3 does NOT do a[n] HD install. The 5MB listed on box back is for save game only.”

Even the 5 MB needed for save game storage is a small amount by the standards of current videogames. One problem that might pop up is that loading times for God of War III could be a bit longer than those of the previous titles, considering that all the information is taken from the Blu-ray disk on which the game arrives. The other two titles featuring Kratos virtually have no noticeable loading times, a fact that was widely praised by gamers.

God of War III is going to conclude the story of Kratos and the player will guide him as he assaults Olympus and looks to do battle with all the Gods that have ever wronged him. It also seems the Titans that are helping him on his assault, at one point, turn on him. The classic gameplay of the series will remain largely unchanged but players will be able to enjoy much upgraded graphics, complex set pieces and impressive godly enemies.
