The newest iteration in Sony's God of War franchise, and the second one to appear for the PlayStation Portable, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, will see a free demo appear on the PlayStation Network, available to all users.

Ghost of Sparta will be the second title released for the PSP, after the critically acclaimed God of War: Chains of Olympus title, both being developed by Ready at Dawn studios.

PlayStation Plus subscribers already got a chance to check out the Ghost of Sparta demo at the beginning of the month, but it will now be available to all PlayStation Network users that have a PSP or a PSP Go device.

"Be sure to stay glued to the PlayStation Store tomorrow, Tuesday, September 28th," revealed a Sony executive on the official PlayStation blog, "as the God of War: Ghost of Sparta Demo will be included as part of the general PlayStation Store Update! With our November 2nd release date just around the corner, this is one Store update you won’t want to miss!"

Sony also reminds those that want to experience God of War: Ghost of Sparta that they will get special bonuses if they pre-order the game through the PlayStation Network, or through a regular retailer.

Among the items that will be offered is a Kratos PSN avatar, the original soundtrack of Ghost of Sparta, a special Legionnaire skin for Kratos in the game, a special PSP theme and a PS3 dynamic one and, the biggest of them all, the God of War Live documentary, with insight from all of the creators that worked on the franchises' games, from creator David Jaffe to Cory Balrog, Stig Asmussen and the designers from Ready at Dawn.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta will be released on November 2, both as a digital download from the PlayStation Store, and as an UMD in regular, brick and mortar retailers.

Don't forget that there is also a special bundle edition available, with the game and a customized PSP.
