This is the largest Android smartphone to date, boasting a 5.3'' screen

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has just confirmed that its Galaxy Note smartphone should start arriving on shelves as soon as thins month.

The handset vendor reportedly confirmed that the new device was set to make its debut in various European countries this month.

Granted, this is great news for enthusiasts, since some of the initial rumors on the phone's availability suggested that it might not arrive on shelves before the end of the ongoing year.

The countries that will receive the smartphone in the first place would include Germany, UK, and France, among other countries in Europe, and the company has set special launch events there for the new device.

In addition to Europe, Samsung's homeland market will also get a taste of Galaxy Note, but with a series of upgrades from the international version.

To be more precise, the Korean flavor of this mobile phone, expected to arrive on shelves in November, will pack 4G LTE connectivity capabilities.

The rest of the hardware specifications should remain the same, starting with the large 5.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display that can deliver an (1280 x 800 pixel) HD resolution. The new device is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM, and sports a microSD memory card slot for expanding the 16GB of available internal memory.

The handset's specifications list also shows an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which can offer full HD video recording, and a 2MP camera on the front, for video calling.

The Galaxy Note arrives on shelves with Android 2.3 on board, and with Samsung's TouchWiz interface on top of it, while also sporting the S Pen UX that enables users easily take notes on it while on the go, courtesy of the included S Pen.

Other specs include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 3.5mm headphone jack, accelerometer, proximity sensor, A-GPS, and the like. Stay tuned for more info on Galaxy Note's availability as it arrives in different markets around the world.
