That Advanced Micro Devices is getting ready to unleash a new batch of high-end CPUs has been known for months, but Gigabyte finally gave the official confirmation, complete with specifications.

Advanced Micro Devices has been studiously going forward with its projects, even as the outfit went through a period of transition, or got ready for a major shift in perspective.

With the election of a new CEO (Chief Executive Officer), the Sunnyvale, California-based outfit may at last go through whatever business changes are deemed most beneficial.

Mr. Rory P. Read himself addressed the employees recently, saying that he wants to turn the company into more of an aggressive predator instead of making do with the CPU market areas where Intel doesn't cover everything.

Meanwhile, the CPU projects have been, apparently, coming along nicely, even though the market is divided on whether the FX line will debut this month (September) or the next one (October, 2011).

Gigabyte's listing of its updated compatibility list does little to shed light on this mystery, but it does, at least, fully confirm everything that leaks and rumors revealed up to this point.

Possible to examine in full here, the list shows all members of the FX-Series, as well as their specifications (clock, cache, power draw, etc.).

The FX Line of chips are also known by the Bulldozer codename and have a TDP (thermal design power) of 95W or 125W.

Their clock speeds range between 2.8 GHz and 3.6 GHz, while the number of cores is 4, 6 or 8 (for 4 MB, 6 MB or 8 MB of L2 cache).

They all have an extra 8MB of L3 cache and are designed on the 32nm manufacturing process, featuring the B2 stepping.

The Turbo Core clock speeds (the technology decides when and by how much cores are dynamically overclocked) are, unfortunately, not mentioned.
