Finally arrives on the PC

When the PC version of the space faring role playing game Mass Effect was announced, BioWare and Electronic Arts said that the Bring Down the Sky downloadable content, which was already out on the Xbox 360, would be integrated on the PC port of the game on launch day. It wasn't so, mainly due to some technical issues with integrating the pack into the game, but now, finally, PC owners can get their hands on Bring Down the Sky. There's also a patch available for the game. You can download both the patch and the DLC by clicking on the links at the bottom of the article.

To get the new content, you are required to download the content pack, whose size goes from a bit more than 300 MB to over 500 MB, depending on the language you choose, and only then install it on your computer. You must have Mass Effect installed and provide a valid serial key to complete the installation process. If the situation is the same as on the Xbox 360, you are required to use the Galactic Map from the Normandy to get access to the new content, which means that if you've advanced too far down the main story, you will probably have to load a saved game to experience Bring Down the Sky.

In fact, the new DLC adds a whole new side quest to the game, putting you as Captain Shepard in a situation where you need to save the entire colony of Terra Nova from a group of extremists that plan its total annihilation. The cool thing is that we get to see a race that was only talked about during the original game, the Batarians, who have a grudge against humanity for settling some colonies before they did. Their weapon of choice is an asteroid station which they hijack and plan to crash into Terra Nova. It's up to you to stop them, either by talking them out of it or by shooting your way through the situation.

The developers say that the new adventure can be completed in a couple of hours and with talks of Mass Effect 2 being under development, it is unlikely we will see more DLC for the original game.
