Another game based on movie to hit the market

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D is getting ready for release this summer on the 11th of July and, as every big movie does nowadays, it will come with a game. A Nintendo DS game this time, developed by THQ and promising to bring the thrills and excitement of the Brendan Fraser movie to the small screens of the handheld console. And, since the game is scheduled to be released at the same time with the 3-D film, we could skip the "this summer" official announcement and consider it an 11th of July title.

In Journey to the Center of the Earth for DS, players will ride a dangerous rock slide, navigate an out-of-control mine cart, raft across an ancient sea and survive from being chased by a Gigantosaurus. All the three main characters from the movie (Trevor, Sean and Hannah) will be playable and the gameplay will take the player on a trip through seven worlds that can also be seen in cinemas (and they will probably look better on the big screen, but that shouldn't be my concern).

The excitement may hit the sky when you play the never-missing-in-a-DS-game minigames, in Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D consisting in digging for dinosaur bones and deciphering ancient ruins. Wow!

So, the game, based on the movie based on the classic Jules Verne novel (based on his own imagination), presents an expedition in Iceland gone wrong, where science professor Brendan Fraser and his nephew stumble upon a major discovery that will take them to worlds never seen before and creatures that nobody thought really exist. But you'll get to see everything for yourself when THQ decides to launch the game this summer for the Nintendo DS portable consoles.
