The story that set new RPG standards, Final Fantasy IV, returns on Nintendo DS handheld consoles, since Square Enix has announced its release across PAL territories this summer. The game makes an impressive return on Nintendo DS with improved 3D graphics, fully voiced cutscenes and additional content never seen before.

Square Enix promises that, even though the game has been completely revamped, it keeps all the charm of the original release, including the innovative Active Time Battle. Final Fantasy IV for Nintendo DS, the PAL version, will benefit from all the capabilities of the DS, allowing a deeper and richer game experience.

John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments, "Final Fantasy IV is a benchmark in RPG history. This improved version of Final Fantasy IV is a great opportunity for fans, old and new alike, to experience one of the definitive titles in the Final Fantasy series in an exciting and innovative new way".

The story follows the dark knight Cecil who is sent to destroy a mysterious beast that lurks in the Valley of Mist after questioning his leader's desire to do good to the realm. On the way, in his quest to become the man of honor he should be, Cecil will experience trials, betrayals, friendship, loss and self-discovery. And everything started because of four elemental Crystals - each possessing huge power. The kingdom of Baron wanted to seize them from peaceful nations and Cecil was sent to get one of them, but didn't.

Final Fantasy IV also features new episodes that let you explore the unseen lives of the main characters, while an Even Theatre bonus mode allows you to replay any scene you have already seen. Also, special new minigame lets you nurture your own summon monster and battle a friend via DS Wireless Communications. But everything will become reality this summer, and not sooner.
