Developer People Can Fly together with publishers Electronic and Microsoft have announced that the upcoming Epic Edition of the first person shooter Bulletstorm will allow purchasers to get access to the public beta stage of the Gears of War 3, the game that will be launched during the fall of 2011.

The Epic Edition for Bulletstorm will be released on February 25, 2011 and will be only available for the Xbox 360 home gaming system from Microsoft.

The Epic Edition offers gamers more than just a beta invite that they might decide not to use.

The game also comes complete with more players characters gear, like a Peace Maker Carbine, armor, boots and other visual upgrades.

Those who pick up the Epic Edition will also get 25,000 Experience Points that they can use to get a headstart in developing the character they will be using for the multiplayer component of Bulletstorm.

Doctor Michael Capps, who is the president of Epic Games, has said, “Epic is poised to break new ground in 2011 with Gears of War 3 and Bulletstorm. With these two highly anticipated triple-A experiences comes a unique opportunity to do something to really excite players, and that’s what we intend to accomplish with the support of Microsoft Game Studios and EA. This is for the shooter fans.”

Bulletstorm is developed by People Can Fly and aims to deliver a very different first-person shooter experience, based around the idea of taking out enemies with style in order to gain experience and develop new abilities for their character.

Gears of War 3 will be published by Microsoft and was initially slated to arrive in the early half of 2011 before being officially delayed to the fall season.

Bulletstorm itself will be released on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC on February 22, 2011 in North America and three days later in Europe.
