Sony has announced that it will be introducing three pre-order packages for its upcoming racer MotorStorm Apocalypse, which is set to be launched exclusively on the PlayStation 3 at some point during spring 2011, each offering a different vehicle for gamers to enjoy.

The first pre-order package is called “Carbon Edition Supercar” and will include the car mentioned in the title, a dynamic themed for the Xtended Media Bar, a PlayStation Network icon linked to the Carbon Edition and a set of new designs that can be applied to any car in the game.

The “Carbon Edition Rally Car” option allows the gamer access to the rally car and the same set of incentives as those of the Carbon Edition Supercar.

The third MotorStorm Apocalypse pre-order edition is built around the Carbon superbike and also offers a theme, an icon and stickers for those who are more interested in two wheeled vehicles rather than in powerful cars.

Sony says that retailers like GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon will be offering all the three editions of the game.

Matt Southern, who is the game director working on MotorStorm Apocalypse, has stated, “This is the first time Evolution has offered any form of pre-order gear, and we really hope you like what you see!”

He added, “There are two of the new vehicle classes and an old favourite, and we’d love to know which one you guys like best. For me it’s the Superbike again, but some of you will know we made some amazing rally games in the past, and a lot of us have been trained to drive them, so there’s a lot of love for the Rally Car at Evo towers.”

MotorStorm Apocalypse will allow the gamers to experience racing in a post-disaster world with the introduction of 3D gaming to the series.
