While the defense grilled prosecution witness Rachel Jeantel in the George Zimmerman trial, they found out that she could not have written a letter to the victim's mother including details about the night her son died.

As I reported before, Jeantel was put on the stand twice so far, and several misunderstandings in her testimony came to light.

This time, the defense has shown that she can neither read nor write cursive. She can only make out a few expressions, such as “Thank you.”

“Some but not all. I don't read cursive,” she admitted in court.

She did mention that she dictated a letter to someone. According to ABC News, she confessed to previously omitting information on what she heard when she was on the phone with Trayvon Martin, in a bid to avoid causing his mother more distress.
