It almost sounds like he hates the PS3, or rumors about his game

A little while ago, rumor had it that Epic's Gears of War was becoming a multiplatform title. To be exact, it was said to be ported to the PS3. No official word though, so fans of the Xbox 360 "still" exclusive can rest assure that their favorite third-person shooter is staying within Microsoft's "jurisdiction."

Who else but the man himself, Epic's Mark Rein, could dissipate such a lousy rumor? Here's his statement, as posted on the official Gears of War forums, pointed out by Beyond Unreal: "This story is complete bull****. I emailed the site and asked them to take it down. We're very happy with our relationship with Microsoft. If it weren't for them Gears wouldn't be the huge hit it has become."

Short and simple. You can almost hear the man's angry voice saying it all. Why is he so upset though? Do you reckon it's because he has become fed up with childish rumors, or because the PS3 was so-out-of-the-question? I wouldn't blame him if the reason for his angry statement was the second one I mentioned. Not that these two could be the only reasons, but nothing else comes to mind at the moment.

Besides, why would Epic port Gears to the PS3? Publishers are running away from it like it's a disease of something and Epic's "stay" with Microsoft has proven quite fruitful, so there's no reason for all that to be ruined. One more thing and I'm out of here.

Remember the news about a bunch of angry Devil May Cry fans threatening to boycott Capcom for considering a multiplatform release for the fourth installment of the series? Epic doesn't want that kind of scandal. If Microsoft is pleased with their work and gamers respectively, there's no reason whatsoever for Epic to start modifying the game's control scheme to adjust it to the SIXAXIS. When the PS3 starts to sell however, they might just consider it as an alternative, but it's a long shot.
