The multiplayer mode in Gears of War: Judgment, the next installment in the popular third-person shooter series, will feature a very special enemy, in the form of the Epic Reaper, a unique type of villain that will be controlled by a member of the community.

Gears of War: Judgment is the next game in the very popular Xbox 360-exclusive saga and promises to deliver not just a prequel experience that focuses on a new protagonist, Damon Baird, but also includes a special epilogue campaign called Aftermath that takes place during Gears of War 3.

Now, after hearing plenty of details about the multiplayer modes and the bonus features brought by things like the Season Pass, developer Epic Games has confirmed a new piece of information.

Each week after Gears of War: Judgment is released, a member of the community will be chosen to play as a special type of enemy called the Epic Reaper.

The reveal was made during SXSW over the weekend by Epic members and now more details have been shared on the official website, so check them out below.

"Each week, one member from the Gears of War community will be chosen to be the Epic Reaper. Members will be chosen based on their contributions to the community. The Epic Reaper has special abilities and physics so he’s not very easy to kill. If you do manage though, you will be rewarded with the Reaper medal and custom weapon skin! The person who is chosen as Reaper will receive a set of custom Gears of War: Judgment dog tags."

Epic employees engaged in the multiplayer of Gears of War: Judgment will also have the Reaper weapon skin available so, if you kill them, you'll unlock the medal and skin.

Players can make suggestions for the first Epic Reaper master on Twitter using the #GearsReaper tag.
