Everybody would rather hear that we know the date when Gears of War 2 will be released, but this is not the case. However, we have something that might be a subtle hint about the long awaited sequel's arrival. Or it could be nothing more than it is. Ladies and gentleman, Gears of War action figures will hit the market soon!

The National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) has announced that in the late spring of 2008 fans all over the world will be able to play again with Marcus Fenix, Augustus Cole, and the villainous Locust Drone. Not in the sequel, as we'd all want, but with some very detailed action figures featuring extensive articulation and game-accurate accessories.

Indeed, as you can see in the upper left corner, the action figures are really looking great. However, there is still an unanswered question: would launching such items for a game that made its debut in 2006 be a really great idea? Or is it just a hint about a possible Gears of War 2 coming soon? Hopefully the second question gets a positive answer.

However, since its debut, Gears of War has broken sales records on the Xbox 360 consoles, selling more than 4 million copies worldwide and winning many awards, such as the "Game of the Year" award and the Interactive Achievement Awards' "Overall Game of the Year." And this means that Gears of War has a lot of fans who would really like to have at least one of the game characters on their "THAT shelf".

Gears of War thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind's epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet.
