Gears of War 2 is going to be a very big game for the Xbox 360, one that will surely have high sales and will lead the console through the holiday season. The guys at Epic Games have really worked hard with Microsoft to deliver an excellent shooter experience and to give loads of free goodies to the gamers.

Such is the case with a recent announcement from Epic, which says that customers who buy the game will also get a voucher that can be used on Xbox Live to download a free DLC (Downloadable Content Pack) consisting of 5 multiplayer maps.

This pack, named "Flashback," will consist of 5 visually enhanced maps that were in the original game: Canals, Gridlock, Mansion, Subway and Tyro Station. Alongside standard 10 multiplayer maps of the retail version, this voucher brings the total to 15.

The pack is set to be made available for download on the launch day of the game, which is November 7. This voucher can only be used once, so people who buy a second-hand copy will only have the standard 10 maps.

Also, as an extra treat, gamers who will attend the "Day One" launch events will also get a special code, which will enable them to unlock a gold plated Hammerburst Assault Rifle for the game. This is set to match the gold plated Lancer Rifle available for any customer who ordered the Collector's Edition of the game. But don't think that these guns have any other practicality built into them, because they are for aesthetic purposes only.

Epic completed its statement by saying that there was no chance that these goodies would make their way to the Xbox Live Marketplace as paid downloads. They're just gifts for the fans, to help them have an even greater gaming experience.
