The New York Comic Con will feature a special game summit day, on April 20, the last day of the comic convention. The summit is being organized by Epic Games (oh, how I loved that company when it was named MegaGames) and apparently a showcase of Gears of War 2 is being prepared for the attendants.

The New York ComicCon started in 2006 and grew quickly to become the main event related to comics in New York. Last year's event took place in February, but this year the convention was moved to April so that more people will get the chance to see the likes of Stan Lee, Frank Miller, Ron Pearlman, Guillermo del Toro, Eva Mendes and Seth Green on the convention floor. Stan Lee apparently will even host a quick drawing contest on the convention floor.

Those uninterested in comics and their recent shared content with games will surely want to take place in the game summit the guys at Epic have set up. Other publishers will also be present. Konami, Namco Bandai, Square Enix and Ubisoft have announced they will talk to fans and showcase their newest games. A gamer will have the chance to see and even try out games like the much delayed Age of Conan, the sci-fi MMO EVE Online and the recently postponed Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

The main attraction will be the Gears of War 2 presentation that developer boss Michael Capps will lead, while script creator Joshua Ortega will talk more about the history of the series and narrative behind the second game. Whether a gameplay demonstration will also take place is unclear at the moment.

The little details we have so far of the game plot come from John DiMaggio, the guy who voices Marcus Fenix in Gears of War. He said that for the moment he was recording voice lines for Marcus and that he'd known about the new title for a while, but he couldn't talk about it until the official announcement was made. The narrative of the game itself is much improved, with a more clear place in the game and no more secondary-to-the-fast-paced action oriented gameplay.
