Galaxy Tab, the first Android-based tablet PC that South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung announced officially during the ongoing year, is already arriving in various markets around the world. Boasting a 7-inch touchscreen display and running under Google's Android 2.2 OS, the slate was made available for pre-order in the UK, and was also announced as available in the Middle East.

On the UK market, the Galaxy Tab is expected to become available for purchase come November 1st, and should hit various carriers in the country, as well as retailers such as Carphone Warehouse, which announced the device as available for pre-order.

In addition to making the Galaxy Tab available for pre-order, the retailer also unveiled the price tag this device would sport in the UK, which does not seem as high as originally expected.

The slate should be released at £530 contract free, while being available for only £500 on a £10 per month plan.

With November 1st only about two weeks ahead, UK users interested in the purchase of this tablet PC should head over to the retailer's website to secure one unit before the official release date.

In related news, we learn that Samsung also announced the availability of Galaxy Tab on the market in the Middle East, with a special offer put in place after the Gitex Dubai expo event.

The Android tablet is available with an Etisalat connection for AED999 (USD272) with a contract of AED150 (USD41) per month, including unlimited data.

However, there are chances that only customers in the Gitex expo would benefit from the deal, and that those acquiring the slate outside the show might get whit other offers in place.

It shouldn't be too long before the tablet PC becomes available for purchase in other markets too, that's for sure. In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the video below, available courtesy of Carrypad, to view an unboxing and intro of Galaxy Tab.
