Mobile phone carrier Telus has already announced plans to bring to the market its own flavor of Samsung's latest flagship device, the Galaxy S II, and even put the smartphone on a coming soon page on its website, but no official info on the release date for the new device emerged for the time being. However, a new report on the matter suggests that the handset might become available for purchase as soon as October 19th.

Provided that the rumor pans out, TELUS' customers will be able to purchase the new device in two weeks from now.

For the time being, however, no specific detail on the price tag the handset might sport when released emerged.

As stated above, the new mobile phone is already present on the wireless carrier's website with a 'coming soon' tag attached to it.

The mobile phone comes with a large 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display, and packs a dual-core application processor inside, with each core clocked in at 1.5Ghz, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM for increased performance capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy S II X also arrives on shelves with an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 2-megapixel camera on the front, with support for video calling.

The new device also packs WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, along with support for HSPA+ networks, built-in GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

The handset runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and offers fast access to a range of Google Mobile Services, including Gmail, Search, YouTube, Google Maps with Navigation, and the like.

Not to mention that it provides users with the possibility to download and install applications and games from the Android Market.

As stated above, TELUS has yet to make an official announcement on the availability of this smartphone on its airwaves, so stay tuned for more.
