Slated for a November 17 release, Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now available for pre-order in the UK. Customers who want to reserve the first smartphone to bring Ice Cream Sandwich operating system in the market can do so for free.

Major retailer Carphone Warehouse has just announced that it accepts pre-orders for the Galaxy Nexus, but has yet to reveal the availability of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available for free with 24-month plans for at least £36 ($57 or 42 EUR) per month, which offer users 600 national minutes, unlimited texts and 750 MB of data, or 900 national minutes, unlimited texts, but only 250 MB of data.

Customers who choose to commit on shorter term contracts will have to pay at least £99.99 ($157 or 115 EUR) for the phone.

Google's superphone is about to make its debut in the UK next week, and the week after in the United States via Verizon Wireless.

According to Samsung, “Galaxy Nexus is a combination of the latest software and state of the art hardware. It's the world's first phone to use the latest Android platform release, Ice Cream Sandwich, giving it faster performance during apps and web browsing, and the most diverse features list yet.”

Enough said, Galaxy Nexus is one of the most powerful smartphone soon to be available in the market, as it comes equipped with Texas Instruments' OMAP 4460 1.2 GHz dual core processor.

In addition, the device packs 16GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. Although the smartphone lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion, Samsung will also sell a 32GB model, which will be priced accordingly.

Another strong point of the Galaxy Nexus is the stunning 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with support for 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, which features an oleophobic surface.
