Samsung's first ever mobile phone to come to the market with Google's Android operating system running on it, the Samsung Galaxy I7500, is now available for purchase in the United States. However, the best part of the news is yet to come, as the handset can be purchased unlocked from NewEgg, where it sports the price tag of $579.99.

For the time being, however, no exact shipping date has been offered, and it seems that the handset can only offer connectivity for T-Mobile's 3G network. Even so, those who would like to try out Samsung's first Android device should head to the retailer's website to learn more on it, though it might not appeal to as many users as one would expect, considering that there are no carrier subsidies involved in the deal.

Moreover, there are already two Samsung devices that will soon become available stateside with the Android operating system pre-loaded on them, namely the Samsung Moment and the Behold II. Available in the near future from Sprint and T-Mobile, respectively, these phones might see more traction on the market than their predecessor, some voices over the web suggest.

Until the Samsung Galaxy I7500 will start shipping in the US, one might want to take a look at another Samsung handset that comes with Android on board, namely the Samsung Galaxy I5700, which has just been photoed in HD by the guys over at allaboutphones. According to the website, the specs of the device are the same as previously reported on, while the price tag for it seems to have been set at around €350 (around $516).

The Samsung Galaxy I5700 won't come to the market with the “with Google” logo on it, which means that Samsung should throw in its TouchWiz user interface to make the phone appealing to users. Considering the price tag and the capabilities of this handset, it is seen as a direct competitor against HTC's newly unveiled Tattoo. The Samsung I5700 is expected to become available for purchase next month.
