With Nvidia's GTX 560 Ti launch just around the corner, the very first pictures depicting various graphics cards from an wide array of manufacturers has started to make their way onto the web, a recent leak bringing us Galaxy's take on the upcoming GPU.

Uncovered by the Expreview website, the image shows us an engineering sample of the Galaxy GeForce GTX 560 Ti Gemini, that uses a special cooler design and promises to offer improved thermal and acoustic performance.

Compared to Nvidia's other cooling solutions used for the GTX 500 line, the Gemini packs an open design and features dual 90mm fans that sit on top of an aluminum radiator.

The heatsink covers the full length of the card and heat is transferred from the graphics core via four copper heatpipes.

Apart from the Gemini cooling system used, other details regarding Galaxy's card are not known at this time, but it's pretty safe to assume that given the high overclockability of the GTX 560 core, the card will come with higher then standard clocks.

As for the GTX 560 Ti itself, the GPU is based on the GF114 graphics core that features 384 CUDA cores, 32 ROP units and a 256-bit wide memory bus.

Its reference clocks are set by Nvidia at 820MHz for the GPU and 1GHz for the memory, early benchmarks suggesting the 1GB version of the card is overall on par with the AMD Radeon HD 6950 in terms of performance.

In addition, rumors point out to the existence of a 2GB model, and the card is expected to be officially launched on January 25 for about $280 US.

The picture enclosed in this article was that of an engineering sample of the Galaxy GeForce GTX 560 Ti Gemini, so the final design may change until the card hits retail.
