New details revealed by Rockstar

The Grand Theft Auto franchise is one of the most popular series of video games out there. It has been entertaining players with its intricate stories, amusing gameplay and, with the latest iteration, GTA IV, stunning realism.

Now, as the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV is gearing up for the release of its first of two DLC (Downloadable Content) episodes, entitled The Lost and Damned, the musical supervisor of this new expansion, Ivan Pavlovich, has talked with MTV about the new music and features you'll be able to hear on the numerous radio stations that broadcast over Liberty City.

First of all, one of the biggest features will have players listening to The Beat hip hop station, which, besides the new tracks from artists like Statik Selektah or Young Jeezy, will also receive a new show in which Funkmaster Flex will have an interview with Busta Rhymes, before he releases his brand new single exclusive to the game.

Seeing as how the main character of these new adventures is Johnny Klebitz, a member of Liberty City's The Lost biker gang, rock songs will also be featured. The three rock stations, Liberty City Hardcore, Liberty Rock Radio and Radio Broker will all be getting new shows by DJs such as Max Cavalera from Sepultura and Soulfly, Iggy Pop or Juliette Lewis, and songs from Bathory for example.

Even though Pavlovich didn't go into that many details about the number of new tracks, he did say that players would be more than entertained with the 10 to 20 hours of gameplay in The Lost and Damned. Don't forget that these tracks will also be available for purchase on the iTunes Music Store, as my colleague Filip Truta reported a few days ago.

All in all, GTA IV is going to get a massive boost in popularity next week, on February 17, when this DLC will arrive, exclusively to the Xbox 360.
