Swedish retailer brings back the hope for PS3 owners

We don't know exactly what is the real nature of the war between Microsoft and Sony for Grand Theft Auto IV, but we do know that Xbox 360 seems to have some advantages (like DLC or the limited GTA IV Xbox 360 Elite consoles). Until now, Sony only had their fanbase and hope that the people who played Grand Theft Auto on their PS2s will never turn towards Xbox. Still, it might not be enough.

That could be one of the reasons why, suddenly, out of nowhere, a GTA IV 40GB PlayStation 3 bundle surfaced in Europe. To be more specific, it popped up on a Swedish retailer's website (here it is), offering 40GB PS3, a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV, a decorated box and "a little else" (probably the newly released DualShock 3 controller). Since we knew nothing about GTA bundles to hit Europe (or the States), we can't be 100% sure this is completely true or just a paintjob. However, it seems pretty real; you can check it out too and decide. Not to mention the fact that the Swedish retailer has the unit priced at 4,499 kr (about $755), which is a pretty fair cost. Even more, some native gamers suggest that the actual price could be lower because taxes and other fees are included.

Anyway, one thing is clear: the GTA IV bundle exists in Sweden and if everything is for real, we'll most likely see it coming to many other countries as well. I really doubt Sony or Rockstar would miss such a chance. Not to mention that it would be unfair for gamers (and I am talking about PS3 fans here) not to have a special edition of the console and game they love.
