GRID, coming from Codemasters, was the reason for quite a few hours of pure fun, driving tips and full speed crashes when we played it earlier in the summer. The big downside to the game proved to be the fact that there were only 45 cars you could race while playing.

Now the developers are announcing the imminent release of a set of new vehicles, which should provide gamers with new reasons for playing GRID. The cars will be arriving as part of the 8 Ball pack which will be available for download on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network.

The most interesting addition will undoubtedly be the McLaren F1 GTR, the only car in history that was classified as a GT which managed to win the Le Mans race. This car is a legend among those with a passion for cars and speed; it will be a delight to get to drive it in GRID. Other cars in the pack are: the TVR Cerbera Speed 12, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, the Honda S2000, the Nissan GT-R (S-G2008), the VW Nardo, the Volvo C30 and the classic Pontiac Firebird Trans AM.

All the above mentioned cars will be usable in the Race Day mode and in the online mode of GRID and players also get two all new multiplayer events in which to race with their friends.

There are also four new Achievements in the 8 Ball pack, worth a total of 100 Gamerscore points. You get the “Jack Of All Trades” distinction if you manage to win one online race with all the new cars, you are delivered the title of “Drift Master” if you get a 99x combo in the Honda S2000, you will be the “Gas Guzzler” if you go for more than 250 miles in your favorite 8 Ball pack car and you get the “Clean Passing” award if you win a clean race in an 8 Ball Pack car from last position.
