The Ice Cream Sandwich handset will arrive in Canada soon

The release date for the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone in Canada is drawing near, and major retailers in the country are already announcing plans to make the device available for their customers.

Future Shop is one of these, and the company announced that Canadians interested in the purchase of this device will be able to reserve one starting with Monday, November 21, 2011.

The company announced that the new Google phone will be available for purchase via all of its 150 stores across the country starting with that day. Moreover, users will also be able to make purchases via the retailer's website.

Moreover, the retailer confirmed that users interested in the device will be able to purchase it on the airwaves of both Bell and Virgin Mobile when entering its stores.

On Monday, November 21, 2011, enthusiasts awaiting the landing of the Galaxy Nexus from Google can take one step closer to scooping up the device, when Future Shop, Canada’s largest retailer and etailer of consumer electronics, offers the device for pre-order at all 150 stores across the country.

Available in early December, the Galaxy Nexus smartphone is dubbed one of the hottest devices of the season packed with the cool, new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, impressive 4.65” HD Super AMOLED screen, facial recognition, and much more.

The Galaxy Nexus is available at launch through all Future Shop stores on the Bell and Virgin networks. Customers can expect a variety of the latest accessories for the device to be available in-store and online at www.futureshop.ca. Pricing is to be announced. Galaxy Nexus arrives on shelves with a fast 1.2GHz application processor, as well as with a 5MP camera on the back, complemented by a front camera for video calling.

The new device also sports 32GB of internal memory, as well as enhanced connectivity capabilities, including HSPA+, WiFi and Bluetooth, along with support for a great deal of applications and services from Google.
