Next week announces itself to be full of great news for all mobile phone users, with most of the leading handset vendors around the world set to unveil officially brand new devices, many of which build on already available popular devices. The next generation Galaxy S smartphone from Samsung is among them, set to make an official appearance in a matter of days, with its full specs list already leaked online.

Just as rumored not too long ago, the upcoming device is expected to pack a dual core application processor, though it seems that it would not be a Samsung one, but a Snapdragon chip, clocked in at 1.2GHz.

With 3D acceleration on board, the Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 should prove a much more powerful handset than the predecessor, leaked info available on Pocketnow shows.

The specifications list of this device would also include 512MB of RAM, complemented by 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

The handset would arrive on shelves with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on board, with auto focus, LED flash and video recording capabilities (1080p), as well as with a 2MP camera on the front, for video calling capabilities.

The upcoming mobile phone is also expected to pack a 4.3-inch touchscreen display that can boast a WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution, as well as HD video play back capabilities, and other multimedia features as well.

Samsung is expected to have packed the new device with support for 3G networks as well, along with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, microUSB port, 3.5 mm headphone jack,HDMI out, DLNA and WiFi Hotspot capabilities.

Built-in GPS receiver would also be present into the mix, as well as accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor, digital compass, gyrometer, NFC, and more.

The handset was rumored before to run under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and to offer support for various messaging features, including IM and email, as well as for Google Mobile services and for applications available for download via the Android Market.

Although the Samsung Galaxy S2 made it to the headlines quite a few times before, nothing was officially confirmed on its hardware specifications, and we'll have to wait for Samsung to announce more on it to learn whether the rumor would pan out or not.
