Intending to celebrate the start of the festival season, Sony Ericsson virtually took Orange's (virtual) hand and announced a new joint promotion, "Best of Festivals", that runs from the 1st of May until the 30th of June this year. The promotion consists in the fact that Orange customers can buy the exclusive W200i Walkman phone or the exclusive W610i silver Walkman phone and get 15 Best of Festivals songs for the price of... oh wait, there's no price, because anyone who buys the above mentioned phones will receive a code to download the tracks for free, via the Orange Music Store. To lure the customers, a list with the available tracks was announced, list that contains the following artists and songs: The Killers - Bones, Keane - Leaving, The Maccabees - Colour It In, Amy Winehouse - Rehab, Noisettes - I we, Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby, Mika - Stuck in the Middle, Dragonette - Jesus Doesn't Love Me Any More, Guillemots - Made-up Lovesong #43, Fratellis - Henrietta, Rumble Strips - Alarm Clock, Razorlight - In The Morning, The Twang - Wide Awake, Just Jack - I Talk Too Much, New Young Pony Club - The Bomb. The songs are available for download for a limited time period, from 1st May until 1st August 2007.

After the promotion ends, in July, Sony Ericsson and Orange will host a special gig in London featuring Best of Festivals bands. A free prize draw will offer tickets for this exclusive festival to 100 lucky subscribers.

Considering their features and looks, both W200i and W610i are mobile devices that can easily attract young people, so the Best of Festivals promotion was wisely thought and planned. But that's normal, since Orange and Sony Ericcson are companies with great experience when it comes to pleasing customers.

This being said, grab your multimedia cell phone, the songs and the chance to win a festival ticket!
