The “X-Men: Wolverine” spinoff “Deadpool” is, as far as we know, still in pre-production limbo but that doesn’t mean that 20th Century Fox is being less protective of it. The movie studio is suing a woman for no less than $15 million for allegedly leaking the script for the film.

As fans must know, Deadpool appears in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and was so warmly received by the public that the studio announced even before the film came out that a spinoff would happen sooner or later.

Initially, Ryan Reynolds was supposed to reprise his part for the spinoff but, what with his incredibly busy schedule and Fox constantly pushing the movie back, odds of that happening now are zero.

ScreenCrave reports that this isn’t stopping Fox from fiercely protecting what belongs to it, especially given the shocking leak of last year, when the entire “Wolverine” film popped up online on torrent sites days before the official release.

Because it wants to make sure that doesn’t happen again, Fox is pursuing all those who have access to the upcoming film, be it info on it or the script for it.

“They [Fox] have filed a lawsuit against a New York woman who’s accused of posting the Deadpool script online,” SC writes.

“The woman in question is Patricia McIlvaine, a mother of two who has allegedly posted roughly 100 scripts from various TV shows and movies online,” the e-zine notes.

“The studio claims that the postings ‘interfere and trade off of the costly and carefully designed creative processes that produce finished works ready for public consumption. They harm the fans who do not want their enjoyment of a movie or television show to be spoiled by knowing the story ahead of actually being able to watch it’,” SC reports.

Apparently, Fox had two private investigators serve the woman with the court papers right in her home, where she was spending a quiet evening with her two children.

When she opened the door, she found out that Fox wanted her to pay up $15 million for distributing the script for the upcoming “Deadpool” movie.
