As the Forza Motorsport racing sim-game registered a tremendous success, the sequel is on the way and a TV mini-series will also be developed.

The automotive network, SPEED, signed a partnership contract with the games publisher, Microsoft, for creating a live-action mini series based on Forza Motorsport. The show will come to our TV screen sooner than expected, to be more specific on February 2007. The shows' producer will be Bud Brutsman, who is already involved in another show for SPEED, namely Payback.

The series will consist of four episodes and will be hosted by Lee Reherman, who previously played Hawk in the American Gladiator TV show. The format of the Forza Motorsport series seems quite intriguing as each episode will follow a group of racers competing against each other in a series of motor sport disciplines, like road racing, drag racing and drifting. A cash prize will be available for the winner of the competition, as at the end of the show, the over-all driver will increase his bank account by US$ 100,000.

And to think this will be all based on a video game, an exquisite one that is. Forza Motorsport was released back in 2005, as Microsoft planned to compete with Grand Turismo and Ridge Racer. But it also has some downsides as Microsoft decided to launch it only on the Xbox.
