Football Manager 2011, from publisher SEGA and developer Sports Interactive, has debuted at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart, with fans of the beautiful game in the land that perfected it ready to take on their favorite team and lead it to titles that might elude it in real life.

Football as a sport manages a one two in the chart, with FIFA 11 from EA Sports managing to cling to second spot after it was recently announced by publisher Electronic Arts that the series as a whole managed to break through the 100 million copies sold barrier this year, with a performance that is 20 percent better than at the same time in 2009.

Fable III, the action adventure title from developer Lionhead and publisher Microsoft, has fallen down from number one to third spot in the chart, followed by Just Dance 2 from Ubisoft, which is standing still in fourth place.

Professor Layton and the Lost Future from Nintendo jumped up three places from eight to fifth while New Super Mario Bros for the Nintendo Wii managed to reenter the top ten coming from thirteen, probably because of the 25th anniversary of the character.

Fallout: New Vegas, created by Obsidian and published by Bethesda, dropped four places, from three to seven, showing the lasting appeal of the post apocalypse, just as the publisher has said that it has shipped 5 million copies of the game all over the world..

Medal of Honor also dropped two places to reach eight in the current chart while Star Wars: the Force Unleashed II from LucasArts, is in ninth spot, coming from fifth.

The Sims 3 from Electronic Arts closes down the top ten.

The GoldenEye 007 remake from Activision launched in thirteenth position while the all new 007: Blood Stone, from the same publisher, launched in 18th place.
