With her latest album, “Rated R,” fresh out in stores, Rihanna continues to plug it, preparing for the release of a new video, for her “Hard” single. Unlike the one for “Wait Your Turn (The Wait Is Ova),” which focused solely on Rihanna, “Hard” will presumably be a tougher, more aggressive affair, as RapUp can confirm.

The first shots that have surfaced from the set of the video show the singer in several military-inspired outfits, including one in which she seems to be wriggling in mud, perhaps on a recognizance mission or something. Of course, there is lot of skin on display, which makes it so that Rihanna seems even more vulnerable, surrounded as she is by big guns, cars and bullets.

“Rihanna brought out the big guns – literally – in the militaristic video for ‘Hard,’ the new single from ‘Rated R.’’ The clip, filmed in Los Angeles, was directed by Melina Matsoukas and features an appearance from Young Jeezy.” RapUp says of the shoot. As far as reports in the media indicate, the shoot is already over, which means the video is now in post-production, with a later release date to be announced shortly.

As for the looks she’s trying on in it, Rihanna recently told MTV News fans had quite a surprise in store. “It’s couture military. Everything is surrounded around the idea of something military. We have tanks, we have troops, we’ve got helicopters, we’ve got explosions. We’ve got lots of cute outfits, lots of bullets. It’s crazy.” she revealed in one of her most recent interview.

Also on the same occasion, as we also told you the other day, the hitmaker announced that she would be going on tour in 2010 to promote “Rated R.” Right now, Rihanna and her team are tossing ideas around and trying to come up with stuff that has never been done before by a performer live, so, in this respect too, fans should expect something really “crazy,” the singer promised.
