Rihanna promises upcoming tour will be a complete surprise for fans, and not only

After performing live on the British show X Factor a few days ago, Rihanna officially told her fans to get ready for the experience of their lifetime, her upcoming 2010 tour, in support of her latest album, “Rated R.” MTV caught up with the singer on the set of her video for “Hard” and she agreed to offer the first details on the tour.

For starters, Rihanna says that it will be a worldwide event so fans from other countries than the US should not worry about not getting the chance to see their idol live on stage. Secondly, since the album itself marks a departure from the sound she accustomed us to, the tour will also be different from anything else she’s done to date. Preparations are currently underway, and eager fans will be able to make pre-orders on the tickets in just a couple of weeks’ time.

“We gonna be going on tour in the spring and the tickets are going to be up for presale in a couple weeks, actually. It’s going to be a worldwide tour, so it’s going to be a very long tour... We’ll definitely be in your city, so look out for that,” Rihanna tells MTV. The interview, as noted above, was taken on the set of the “Hard” video, with Rihanna still in full military costume as the MTV team caught up with her in between takes.

“Although she was light on details, she did say that it's going to be somewhat of a spectacle, calling the vibe of the tour ‘daring.’ But, in terms of planning, the best is yet to come. ‘We’ve been prepping for the tour for a few months now, coming out with different ideas and cool things that we can do,’ she explained. ‘Things that we’ve never seen before, daring things – but now is when we really start with the rehearsal and we get into the nitty-gritty and the details of everything. I love taking risks. I’m not afraid of the unknown,’ she added,” MTV further writes.

Back to the upcoming video, we also reported the other day that Melina Matsoukas took over directing duties for the latest videos, coming to replace Anthony Mandler, with whom Rihanna worked on several occasions in the past. A release date for the “Hard” video has not yet been unveiled so keep an eye on this space for when it is.
