Might be Natal powered

We've become accustomed to the way Peter Molyneux, the head of developer studio Lionhead, hypes up his games and enthuses about how revolutionary they will be. But let's hope that the people working for him do not share the same tendency because their latest announcement is very interesting for those who like role playing experiences on the Xbox 360.

Sam Van Tilburgh, who is the community manager for Lionhead, has posted on Twitter that “I'm writing storyboard summaries for two new #Fable3 videos @LionheadStudios,” adding that “videos are to come out when we show #Fable3 for the 1st time at an event next month in SF.”

It's not clear whether the presentation he is referring to will be public and open to all those interested or only for a select audience of media and representatives from Microsoft. There are two big events taking place in San Francisco during February. Fable 3 might make its debut at the D.I.C.E. Summit, which is set for February 17 or at the Gamesfest that begins seven days earlier. Of course, Lionhead might stage its own presentation.

Fable 3 is the only major franchise exclusive to the Xbox 360 home gaming console from Microsoft, which has been confirmed as offering support for the motion tracking Project Natal. The game is set to arrive at some point during the winter of 2010 and will allow players to experience a game world that has suffered from the effects of rampant industrialization.

The game is rumored to take place about 50 years after the events of Fable 2 and the main character will be a reluctant revolutionary who fights against a corrupt and tyrannical king. Players will be able to become the ruler themselves in the second half of the game and shape the lives of his subjects while also handling the threats that might come to Albion.
