Daniel Radcliffe, like the rest of the “Harry Potter” cast, is moving on to other projects, now that he’s hung up his magic wand and trademark spectacles – with the horror drama “The Woman in Black.”

The first photo of the actor on set has surfaced online and it’s already getting his fans all hyped about it, as AceShowbiz can confirm.

“The Woman in Black,” cataloged as a horror / drama / thriller, will see the actor play a lawyer – and will most likely be a period piece, judging by Daniel’s garb in the first photo.

“The 21-year-old actor, who is famous for his portrayal of the young wizard in the Warner Bros. movie series, has been spotted filming his upcoming movie ‘The Woman in Black’,” AceShowbiz writes.

“Radcliffe is seen donning a Victorian outfit to portray lawyer Arthur Kipps. He reportedly films his scene just outside Peterborough with the production expected to continue until December around the UK,” the same e-zine notes.

“The Woman in Black” will arrive in theaters in the UK in 2011, at a date that will be announced later, once production wraps.

“In the film, Radcliffe’s character will be ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers,” AceShowbiz writes of the plot of the film.

“As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets. And his unease grows when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black while local villagers are unwilling to explain the significance of her appearance,” the same e-zine notes.

Directed by James Watkins, the film is based on a script by Jane Goldman on a novel by Susan Hill. Casting for it is not yet complete.

Speaking of the fame and exposure he got thanks to his leading role in “Harry Potter,” arguably the most successful film franchise of our times, Daniel recently said that he doesn’t see himself as a “celebrity.”

Moreover, he’s actually quite at a loss that other people would consider him a Hollywood star.

“I went for the premiere of the fifth film, but other than that, I’d never really gone there before,” Radcliffe said a while ago, as we also informed you.

“People seem to have a very bizarre perception of me – that I’m a Hollywood actor. I don’t think of myself that way,” the British star added.

“When I was out there and telling people it was pretty much my first trip, jaws just hit the floor. They were looking at me like I had two heads,” Daniel said.
