Developer Sucker Punch has just deployed the first update pack for the User Generated Content portion of its recent Infamous 2 open-world superhero game, adding new items that can be used by players when building their own missions inside the new title.

Infamous 2 was released early last month and impressed not just through its lengthy and well-paced narrative, depicting protagonist Cole McGrath as he embarked on new adventures in the city of New Marais, but also through the User Generated Content system, which allowed players to create their own missions as well as play through ones made by others.

Now, after over 50,000 missions were uploaded by users for Infamous 2, Sucker Punch has deployed the first update for the mode, which adds new content to use as well as an oft-requested search feature.

"The very first Infamous 2 User-Generated Content Pack is available now on the Playstation Network, and it’s completely free! In the coming weeks and months, we will be releasing more free content updates that will add new objects to User Generated Content (UGC).

"In this first of many UGC updates, you’ll gain access to a number of vehicles from the single-player missions of Infamous 2: Bertrand’s Limo, Bertrand’s Semi-Truck, the New Marais Police Car, the Ambulance, and a bike," Sucker Punch community manager Collin Moore said.

"Over 50,000 user-created missions have been submitted to Infamous 2 and you’ll need a way to find the missions you want to play. We are happy to announce Missions Search: Simply pause the game, bring up your UGC menu, and search by any term you wish, including PSN user names."

Moore also emphasized that Sucker Punch would be slowly rolling out new updates to the UGC mode, and players would have more objects to work with when designing their own missions inside Infamous 2.

As such, expect even more new things to do in the virtual city of New Marais as Cole McGrath, so check out a video of some of these missions below, straight from Sony.
