That didn't take long. Only several weeks after Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion announced the release of a new version of its BlackBerry mobile platform, namely the BlackBerry OS 7, which should arrive on shelves on handsets later during the ongoing year, the first leak has made it into the wild. The guys over at N4BB stumbled upon a leaked OS 7.0.0.100 for the BlackBerry Curve 9350 / 9370, which would also confirm the model numbering for the next generation of RIM's Curve series.

Moreover, the news site claims that a leaked software emerged for the Curve 9360 as well, so there is little doubt left in regard to the said numbering.

The new OS 7.0.0.100 build for the Curve 9350 and 9370 Sedona/Apollo emerges following a series of leaked OS 6.1 builds for the 9810 and 9900.

For the time being, little is known about the content of the leaked ROMs, but more should emerge as enthusiasts rip them apart.

One thing that apparently is certain would be the fact that these files won't fit into current BlackBerry OS 6-based smartphones. Not to mention that RIM won't upgrade these phones to OS 7.

Of course, there would be some who would come up with some of the software and apps included into hybrid ROMs for the current generation of BlackBerry devices, but nothing can be used as it is now.

As the release date for new smartphones from RIM approaches, more and more details on the new platform would emerge as well.

After all, the handset vendor is expected to have the said BlackBerry OS 7 loaded on all of its new devices, with only one of them being official at the moment, the long rumored Bold Touch 9900.

Those who would like to have a closer look at the newly leaked BlackBerry OS 7.0.0.100 build should head over to N4BB here to learn more on how they could download it.
