The latest BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone, the very first Bold device in Research In Motion lineup to feature a touchscreen display and the popular QWERTY keyboard on it, is on its way to the UK market via wireless carrier Vodafone.

The company has just listed the new mobile phone on its website in the coming soon section, and offers users the possibility to register for updates on the availability of the phone.

However, no specific info on when would the new BlackBerry smartphone become available for purchase emerged, nor on the price tag it might feature.

Bold 9900 was unveiled on Monday during the BlackBerry World conference in Orlando, FL, and was already confirmed as being on its way to the market through some other wireless carriers.

Here's what Vodafone UK has to say on the phone:

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is perfect for tapping out quick messages as well as detailed emails. That's because it gives you a touchscreen plus a full QWERTY keypad with larger keys than you'll find on the BlackBerry Bold 9780.

The Bold 9900 also comes with a powerful 1.2GHz processor that makes browsing the web a breeze where connection speeds allow. And whether it's your mate's party or your sister's wedding, you can capture your magic moments in pin-sharp high definition video.

The new mobile phone runs under RIM's new BlackBerry 7 OS, the latest version of the platform, which includes a wide range of new features, such as voice search, a better browser, NFC, HD video recording and playback, and more.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is powered by a 1.2 Ghz application processor, and sports a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, in addition to the full QWERTY keypad we mentioned above.

Those UK users interested in the purchase of this device through Vodafone should head over to the wireless carrier's website here to learn more on it and to register for updates on it.
